- 1 long skirt of scrunchy, naturally wrinkly fabric OR one simple long dress
- 1 pair light-colored heavyweight pants, jeans type but preferably not blue as this still has a 60s "hippie" association which may not be positive in all contexts as well as 1 - 2 cotton trouser
- 1 light sweater
- 1-3 pairs shorts
- 1 - 5 t-shirts
- 1 -2 small skirts especially for the beach or for the night
- 2 -3 good looking tops especially if you are going to visit famous clubs or bars
- 1 -2 Night bags
- 1 -2 good looking dresses for the night
- 1 long-sleeved top; 1 sleeveless top.
- 1 - 2 bathing suits. Take two if you know you will be changing locations a lot; depending on the heat and humidity, they may not dry overnight (ditto underwear!).
- 3-5 pairs underwear, 1-2 bras, and 3-5 pairs socks, depending on how often you expect to be able to wash items and have them dry by your departure time
- 1 oversized T-shirt (for sleeping, beach cover up, etc.)
- 2 pairs shoes - 1 pair good walking shoes, already broken in, and one 'nice' (but still very comfortable and well-soled!) pair for enjoying the nightlife. Tuck socks into the shoes to save space.
- 2 pair sandals. One should be a rubber-bottomed, strap-on, 'swimmable' type to avoid sea anemones and jellyfish when wading along the shore.
- 1 windbreaker or other light, waterproof jacket
- Cosmetics, glasses, hats, anti-sun oil, pepanthol cream

Hey there, this is the woman that triggered this post. THANK YOU! Boy, I have some shopping to do. I have no sandals, which means nothing will be broken in before I go *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI was also wondering about the size issue. My understanding is that Greek island culture is far more accepting of the human form, and bathing topless is pretty normal. But what about those of us with a bit more meat on them? Or rather, chub? Is it normal for those a bit bigger to "let it all hang out", either on the beach or out enjoying the nightlife, or is it mainly the skinny folk?
Thanks!
It is no matter if you are not skinny!!!! Be yourself....wear something decent and you are just OK!!!!!!I am not skinny but I have no problem to go out, to go to the clubs and have great holidays in greek islands!!!!! And forget big clubs...are expensive in Athens as well as in the Greek Islands!!!! There are so many bars in the center of Athens as well as to the islands to go out, to drink and have fun!!!!!Just ....be yourself!!!!
